Ruby on Rails Developer /Agile/Scrum Environment

Client is seeking a Ruby on Rails/MySql developer who has worked in an Agile environment, has an understanding and experience in Unit Testing, Test Driven Development (TDD) with strong jQuery and Ajax.

Candidate will be interfacing more with the business during Agile sessions so great communications skills are a must.

Required:

* At least 3 years experience with Ruby on Rails, MySql.

* At least 2 years experience in an Agile/Scrum environment.

* At least 2 years of unit testing and TDD (Test Driven Development) experience.

* Strong jQuery, Ajax, Sinatra.

* Knowledge on NoSql databases, especially MongoDB.

* Experience on creating RESTful web services and public API design.

* Experience with Cloud deployments, especially Amazon EC2/SCALR and Heroku.

* Well versed in design patterns.

* Experience on high traffic websites, caching, performance tuning/optimization.

* "Excellent" communication skills.

DESIRED:

* Preferred but not required, experience in Java and Hadoop.

* Self starter.

* Passion in programming.

* Hunger to learn new technologies outside of work on their own time.

* Avid reader of technology books.

* Huge plus if the candidate has his own blog on programming.

* Huge plus if candidate is an idea generator.
