Shutl, an exciting London based web-service start-up founded by accomplished 2nd time entrepreneur is looking for CTO / Lead Architect.

Requirement:

A hands-on and commercially-savvy technologist capable of owning the IT side of the business including big picture strategy, development methodology and management, platform / architecture development, and internal IT requirements.

· ability to communicate with both technical and commercial partners

· a highly analytical and logical problem solver with can-do attitude

· strong organizational skills, attention to detail and follow-through

· willing to get hands dirty with scaling issues, performance tuning, database backups etc

· must be UK based, willing to consider remote worker at least at start

Responsibilities:

· take ownership of our technology strategy and ensure that it serves our business strategy

· oversee the architecture, development, implementation, deployment and maintenance of code, servers and IT organization

Experience:

· min 4 years lead technical within fast moving tech based business preferably providing a web service

· solid practical knowledge of Ruby on Rails HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, XML & REST APIs, MySQL, Flash and Ajax

· managing local and distributed/offshore teams using agile development methodologies

· scaling a business with cloud infrastructure, preferably Amazon EC2/S3

· working within startup / early-stage environment

· University degree or equivalent

· e-Commerce / logistics experience prized
