freelance Rails developer at Roomorama

Located in Singapore, Singapore. Posted August 10, 2010

Roomorama.com, a major player in the short-term rentals domain, is looking for a freelance Rails developer to assist our development team on a part-time basis.

Roomorama is a two-year-old startup with a young and dynamic team that specializes in helping travelers find short-term or holiday accommodation and property owners to rent out their space. Our team is split between New York, Belgium and Singapore and we love Rails, clean and well-tested code, and great customer service.

We've now grown to a point where we need some more help maintaining and expanding our product and are looking for a Rails developer in Singapore who is looking for a new challenge and the opportunity to expand his knowledge of Rails.

Your responsibilities would be to assist our main developers in their work and help us develop new features for http://roomorama.com as well as help maintaining the current version of the product and help weeding out any bugs that might occur.

For you this means a chance to embark on a new challenge and further your experience in Rails programming as part of a small dynamic team that loves agile development and new technologies, work on a large and fast-growing customer-facing product, and hopefully have fun while doing it.

We're looking for someone with the following skills:

- Good knowledge of Rails 2.x

- Knowledge of Relational Databases (MySQL, SQLite)

- HTML/CSS/Javascript (jQuery) coding skills

- Knowledge of testing frameworks (we use Cucumber/Capybara and RSpec)

- A strong belief in clean and beautiful code and the discipline to follow existing formatting standards

- Good teamplayer and good written and oral english communication

Additionally it'd be great if you had knowledge in the following:

- Have experience in a startup environment

- Worked as part of a development team before

- Knowledge of online project management and code management tools (Github, Lighthouse, Hoptoad)

If interested please send your CV and a portfolio of projects you've worked on before (if you have a github profile with some open-source stuff that'd be great as well) to job+992@railsjobs.in
