Kinesis is an exciting consultancy that is determined to make a difference and to create a unique space in the consulting world. Our field is climate change, sustainability and providing carbon management and reporting solutions to business and government.
We are working with all levels of government across the country, and have a suite of leading public companies and smaller enterprises as clients. Our aim is to ensure they become effective and recognised leaders in this field.
We have been up and running for 2 years and are now in a position to expand our crack team of people to work on existing and future projects.
The team is small and focused, with a mix of scientific analysts and mathematicians, a senior application architect, business and corporate communications experts - all of whom contribute to our digital development programme.
The Role:
You will be mentored under our senior application architect, developing a numerical modelling system with web front end and database backend.
Skills required:
Web applications
Good Object-Oriented skills
At least one of Java, Ruby or Python
Basic SQL
Competence in HTML, CSS
The capacity to work to tight time-frames
Generous people skills and the ability to work in a high-achieving team environment
Highly Desirable:
Test-driven development / Unit testing
Behaviour-driven development / RSpec
Desire to learn Ruby and Rails
This position would suit a young graduate or professional who is prepared to cut their teeth at the leading edge of delivering digital solutions to business and government.
