Agency.com London is looking to hire a passionate, motivated and generally wonderful Lead Ruby on Rails developer to join our small in-house technical team, based in the heart of London's SOHO.
As a RoR developer, reporting to our lead RoR developer, you'll be driving the continued development of a major social media project. We're a small team of 8, but growing fast, and you'll have input into the decisions we take as a department. Lots of good stuff.

things we need you to have:
• Ruby on Rails site/app development in an Apache webserver, MySQL and mod_rails environment.
• Comfortable with Rails 2.2.2, Ruby 1.8.6, MySQL
• Solid Object Oriented Javascript skills (think AJAX and JSON)
• Solid version control approach using Subversion
• Solid approach to documentation, code commenting and change control.
having some of this stuff too is a bonus:
• Knowledge and use of Rspec/Test::Unit and TDD
• Linux server configuration skills; Fedora 9/Redhat ES
• Knowledge of, and experience with any of the following; Memcache, Squid, and Javascript frameworks such as MooTools, facebooker, attachment_fu, and the YouTube API.
this is what we'll need you to do:
• You will be the lead developer on a social media oriented web project, for a blue chip client.
• Working with the Senior Technologist, Project Manager, Designers and Information Architect, scope out the development plan.
• Develop functional prototypes as needed to demonstrate the validity or usefulness of specific project areas.
• Develop the site as per the agreed functional specification and phased launch schedule, working with additional technical folks as required.
