RoR Developer/Manager - NYC, permanent position with rapidly expanding organization.

Our client is a two year old startup that is up and running with working software. The company is in rapid expansion and needs in-house talent to develop their applications to keep pace with their growing business.

The management team is a highly experienced group that includes a CEO who has built and taken public another web based credit app company that today has a billion dollar market cap and trades on the NYSE.

Remember the stories of internet startups where the employees played basketball in the hall? – they don’t do that. How about seeing how fast they can spend investor money? – not them. Or companies that were never actually concerned about developing a viable product or turning a profit? - they are already up and running.

So here are the basics:

The shop is all Ruby/Rails so we need someone who understands the technology, can code and has project and people management skills to run a team that we expect will reach 6 programmers at some point.

 Absolutely, must have excellent Ruby on Rails programming skills with OOP background

 Must be detail-oriented and thorough in designing, coding and testing

 Serious about test-driven development

 Experience in developing large scale, high traffic web applications

 Be involved in all areas of the application, from front-end to the application layer to the database (MySQL).

 Ability to multi-task and desire to work in a fast paced startup environment

 Should be a fast learner with ability to adapt quickly and enjoy programming challenges

 Experience with Linux, MySQL

 Experience with Accounting/Financial is a plus.
