Our client is an established startup of 5 years, has a solid team of 5-7 developers on staff running an agile shop, creating web applications for the education industry. Description:

The role of the Ruby/AJAX developer will be to work with the team lead and front end designer to do the middle tier and backend integration work. You will be pulling from Google Maps and Facebook API's to bring your solution to life, on an MVC framework, using around 10 controllers and 20 models on a RoR platform. The backend database is MySQL 5.0, and the web application receives around 10,000 unique visitors daily. It is used to help students and colleagues find each other using online searches.

Requirements:

- 5+ years of web application development, in an agile/scrum team environment

- 3+ years of front end web development/integration expertise with AJAX, Jquery, PHP and/or Javascript

- 2+ years of professional Ruby on Rails development expertise; you know how to work in an MVC environment

- 1+ years of experience with MySQL database development experience

- Professional experience with search and Google/Facebook API integration a plus
