Ruby on Rails Developer

Location: Washington, DC

Duration: 6+ months

Job Description:

The Ruby on Rails Front End Developer/Lead UI Architect will focus on creating beautiful front-ends for web

applications. The ideal candidate would be familiar with Ruby and Rails and an expert with HTML / CSS and

JavaScript. This person will support our efforts to build world-class products and will work with small team of highly

talented developers.

Responsibilities:

Work within a team of designers, architects and Rails back-end developers to design and implement Web 2.0

User Interface applications.

Required Skills:

4+ years HTML and CSS with tableless designs

2+ years Ruby on Rails experience

Ability to create an efficient user interface that is simple to use

Ability to work with little direction and changing requirements Test driven development with TestUnit or Shoulda

XHTML, CSS, Javascript and AJAX expert.

Expert in building web applications.

Excellent work ethic, attention to detail and very organized.

A strong portfolio of past work.

Proficient in JQuery, Dojo, SproutCore or equivalent.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Knowledge and Skills:

Facebook Platform experience

Experience with Photoshop.

Proficient in SQL, Linux shell, GIT
