ROLE SUMMARY

We are currently looking for a Ruby on Rails Developer on behlaf of our client. As the application developer, you will be responsible for maintaining, enhancing, and optimizing the application layer of code. Not only should you enjoy writing well organized, highly tested code, but you should also enjoy working with stakeholders to help design solutions. This is a fulltime opportunity.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

-- Support application functionality by writing scalable, well-factored, well-tested application code

-- Work with support teams to find and fix application bugs

-- Work with cross-functional teams to develop design solutions

QUALIFICATIONS

Candidate MUST have the following experience to be considered for this opportunity:

-- 7+ years experience developing web applications

-- 1+ years experience with Ruby on Rails

-- 2+ years of experience with JavaScript and one or more UI libraries like jQuery, Prototype, YUI, etc.

-- Good test-writing skills

-- Database proficiency (schema design and queries)

-- CSS & HTML proficiency

-- Experience with Git or other version control system

-- Experience working within Agile development environments

-- Willingness to work in Haml and Sass

DESIRABLE SKILLS

-- Experience with medical systems, social networks and data visualization.

-- Experience working with IE (6, 7, 8), Firefox and Safari

-- Linux, OS X experience
