Ruby on Rails Web Developer needed in Seattle, WA

I have a new Ruby on Rails job opportunity in Seattle I want to run by you in case you may know of someone who may be qualified for and interested in this role. This is a 6 month long contract with the possibility of converting to perm. This candidate will be responsible for building a new website to support connectivity to suppliers. The successful candidate must be a self-starter, have excellent communication skills, own deliverables end-to-end, prioritize workload effectively and work well under pressure to meet strict deadlines for all deliverables.

Responsibilities:

• Design and build new supplier-facing website using Ruby on Rails

• Website functionality to include: user authentication, static text, user forum, developer XML validator, admin tool

• Translate business requirements into logical, component-based technical designs

• Build basic reporting

• Drive resolution of all issues that come up during development phase

• Clearly communicate project status to key stakeholders throughout entire development process

• Create comprehensive technical system documentation and provide handoff training to business and development staff

Position Requirements:

• 2+ years Web development experience

• Minimum 2 years experience using Ruby on Rails

• Minimum 2 years experience using Javascript

• Experience interfacing with Web services

• Experience with SQL Server and MySQL
