JOB TITLE: Sr. Ruby Developer

JOB TYPE: Full-time

LOCATION: Toronto, ON

COMPENSATION: Around $100K plus great benefits

As a Sr. Ruby Developer, you will be rewarded both financially and intellectually. You will work side by side with designers, developers, analysts and product owners to build a new social networking and dating website from the ground up. You will be responsible for translating user stories and requirements into working software, contributing to architecture and design decisions, and delivering well-thought out and working code on a daily basis.

Responsibilities:

• implement cutting-edge user interfaces using Ajax, CSS, and DHTML

• implement database schemas and access mechanisms

• break user stories into trackable tasks

• quickly prototype and iterate towards production-level quality

• work with customers to deliver an outstanding product.

Required Skills:

Requirements:

• 2-4 years hands-on experience working with large scale, social websites

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent relevant experience

• 2-4 years Ruby on Rails experience

• 2-4 years SQL experience (MySQL or Postgres)

• Experience with Java and Jruby is a plus

• Experience with HAML and SASS is a plus

• Familiarity with Git, HG Merc or other version control tools

• Strong DHTML and CSS skills

• AJAX experience

• Excellent communicator

• Creative problem solving skills

• Keep up to date on emerging technology

• Experience with Test-Driven Development

• Knowledge of and passion for Agile/Scrum
