Zvents, privately held and based in San Mateo, is a search technology company focused on delivering the answer to 'what to do', and we're doing it for millions of visitors each day. We are looking for a developer who can be instrumental in building out the core of our product, where search technology meets great UI and structured data to delight our customers. We're cornering a significant portion of the local search market, and we'd love to have you come join our team.

You will have:

* Extensive experience developing web applications using Ruby on Rails

* Strong data structure and design skills

* Previous experience working on a production, high-traffic web site

* Great communications skills

It's even better if you:

* Have knowledge of "raw" Javascript as well as the jQuery framework

* Can be self-directed and contribute meaningfully with minimal management

* Can contribute ideas and energy to the whole product development process, including brainstorming, specification, implementation, testing and tuning

* Have an eye for usability, style and design

* Are dedicated to test-driven development

We're based on an open-source stack, including Rails, Merb, Nginx, Thin, MySQL, Hypertable and Solr. We actively contribute to open-source projects, support flexible working arrangements, and our office rocks!
