Ruby on Rails Jobs

The primary Senior Ruby on Rails Developer function will be to help plan, design, develop, test, debug, and deploy highly-available applications using Ruby on Rails and other related languages & platforms. An ideal candidate will be an extremely proficient Ruby developer, and will be comfortable handling new challenges involving emerging technologies.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide a senior-level contribution to a team responsible for the design, development and implementation of critical web applications using best-of-breed open-source technologies

Work with traditional software lifecycle methodologies. Create design documents when and as required. Perform coding, debugging and testing.

Define the integration between proposed development projects and existing systems, software and hardware

Consider and research emerging technologies to improve current applications, architectures and processes

Work in a collaborative development environment, providing assistance & technical guidance to less experienced team members

Required Skills:

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering or a related field

2+ years development experience with Ruby on Rails 1.x and Ruby 2.x

Strong PHP (4.x or 5.x), CSS, HTML and XML skills

Demonstrated facility with JavaScript and AJAX interface development is required; facility with basic user interface design and information architecture principles is strongly preferred

Ideal candidates will have these skills as well “ Languages: Past Java, Smalltalk or .NET, Python or Objective-C; Platforms: Django Google App Engine, Cocoa, Cocoa Touch

Excellent object-oriented design & programming skills, including strong working knowledge and experience in using UML and design patterns
