Lead Software Engineer

This position is open to candidates with prior development experience with Ruby on Rails

The role would be:

To lead a team of developers in meeting the defined product specifications and also being responsible for the delivery and quality of the code

Understand the goals and strategy behind the flagship company product from conception through completion

Conceptualize & ideate on new technology products that can leverage the existing platform

Mentor other software engineers

Identify opportunities for process improvement and make constructive suggestions for improvements

Create the technical documentation

The candidate:

Must have hands on experience in Ruby on Rails server-side development, MySql database development & Javascript/jQuery client-side development

Should be an object-oriented design expert, with knowledge of a design patterns & Model-View-Controller (MVC) framework a plus

Will also contribute to User Experience (UX) stories

Must be conversant with Unix/Linux tools & architecture

Should have experience of deploying Ruby based websites on Apache

Must be able to communicate technology choices effectively
