Senior Software Engineer - Atlanta (Downtown)

Description:

Reporting into Vitrue’s technology group, our Senior Software Engineer will have 8+ years of experience with object-oriented application development. This role will require practical skills using MVC frameworks to their fullest. You will be joining a team responsible for producing clean, high quality, standards compliant code. This will include working with other cross functional groups to ensure successful delivery of various projects and communicate technical parameters and constraints to relevant team members.

Requirements:

* Experience with object-oriented programming utilizing MVC application frameworks

* Experience using Ruby on Rails (heavy use of engines, components and plugins is a plus)

* Experience writing JavaScript and using major JavaScript libraries such as jQuery

* Experience with database principles and using MySQL

* Experience with revision control systems such as SVN

* Exposure to working with Unix or Linux environments

* Enthusiastic and interested in social media marketing

* A startup mentality with a whatever it takes approach to accomplishing goals

* Well grounded and flexible when it comes to solving challenges

* Willingness to learn rapidly and adapt as things iteratively change

* Resourceful to suggest alternatives and share ideas

* Ability to work well with team members and communicate effectively

* Desire to work in a Mac OS X environment, office is over 90% Mac

* Ability to commute by car or rail to downtown Atlanta
