Who is LikeMe?
LikeMe is a social network based search engine that provides personalized recommendations for an active lifestyle. LikeMe.Net gets to know users’ favorite stuff and then provides recommendations on places they’re most likely to enjoy - in a new city, or in their own backyard. LikeMe is a young company, small enough for everyone to know your name. Its mission is to become the premiere destination for recommendations online – and empower users to help each other to enjoy life by sharing their favorites.
LikeMe currently offers personalized recommendations in six major categories: Restaurants,
Bars/Nightlife, Hotels, Shopping, Fitness/Spas/Beauty, and Activities. Even more categories that define and leverage the collective experiences of the LikeMe community will be rolled out in the future.
LikeMe has the benefit of being as well-connected in the business world as its users are in their own neighborhoods – which bodes well for immediate success. These relationships span major players in Hollywood, technology and publishing, and have brought LikeMe a vital partnership with Village Voice Media. Each of the websites for the 15 alternative newsweeklies owned by Village Voice across the country feature LikeMe members and recommendations, and they provide LikeMe with cool localized content.
