We are working with an iPhone app company. They recently released their first application which is basically a Twitter for photos earlier this year. They are a venture backed Seattle startup and now plans to roll out a full slate of consumer-oriented products later this year and are game oriented.
The small company has kept a relatively low-profile since it was incubated downtown. The Founders are veterans in the Seattle start up community
They are looking for a rock solid web services architect who can design, implement and deploy a scalable, authenticated web services infrastructure comprised of various technology components (some off-the-shelf, some custom built for our solution).
Are you someone who used to deploy Java solutions in Enterprise-reliable environments and switched to Ruby on Rails to be more agile? Are you someone who can take a concept and deploy a reliable service yourself? If so, we want to talk to you.
You will be designing your systems from the ground up, writing code and owning entire services, not drawing boxes with arrows for other people to implement.
You will be responsible for helping us deploy a large, reliable, scalable, multi-faceted service.
Requirements:
- Core foundational knowledge of Ruby on Rails 2+
- Working experience with deploying on EC2/S3
- User authentication and security
- RESTful XML-based web services in Rails
Recommended:
- Other network stacks (TomCat/Java)
- Other AWS services mTurk/FPS
- Edge Rails (we don’t deploy with Edge but we need to look forward)
